Truth Tellers
Journalism is the compass that guides society through the fog of misinformation.
Countering disinformation is the first purpose written into this association's statute. Truth Tellers is where we point to the people already doing that work: independent newsrooms across Europe that fund themselves, check what they publish and take the consequences.
This is a short list, not a directory. Every outlet here is one we read, and every link goes to the publication itself rather than to a page about it. It grows when we have something to add — not on a schedule.
What we mean by a truth teller
- 01 Independent of the political and commercial interests it reports on, and open about who funds it.
- 02 Publishes the evidence — documents, recordings, data — not only the conclusion.
- 03 Corrects itself in public when it gets something wrong.
- 04 Reports at length on things that matter, including when the story is slow and unpopular.
